Operated by Hilltop Medical Family Physicians

  • Each day, a set number of physicians are available.

  • Physician schedules and patient capacity vary day-to-day and week-to-week.

  • Each physician sees a predetermined number of patients during their shift, which varies by individual.

Joining the Queue

  • Patients can join the queue each day, either in person at the clinic or by calling in.

  • To be seen in person, we recommend being in the queue between 8:00 - 8:30 am (Monday to Saturday)

  • We cannot guarantee an appointment on any given day due to limited availability.

Appointment System and Availability

  • We operate on a same-day appointment basis to ensure fairness and accessibility.

  • No pre-booked appointments are accepted to prevent booking at multiple clinics simultaneously.

  • There are a limited number of spots for both in-office visits and phone consultations each day, filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Arrival and Capacity

  • Early arrival (8:00 AM) to join the queue to register for the walk-in is recommended.

    • Walk-in spots are allocated, from the queue, starting after 8:45 AM, Monday to Saturday.

  • The waiting room may not appear crowded however this does not necessarily indicate availability, as early arrivals may have filled the day's appointment slots.

Policies and Considerations

  • No-show fees will apply, as failing to attend your appointment takes away an opportunity from someone else in need. (Click here for Hilltop private fees, including no show).

  • Once we reach our daily capacity, unfortunately, we cannot accept more patients for that day.

  • Hilltop is not an urgent care center. For urgent needs, please seek nearby urgent care centers or your local emergency departments.

Respect and Understanding

  • We kindly ask for your understanding and respect. Our staff are committed to doing their best to accommodate all patients within the available capacity. We strive to provide a safe and respectful environment for everyone. As such, any form of verbal or physical abuse, threats, or use of foul language towards our staff or other patients will not be tolerated. The Hilltop Medical Walk-in Clinic is serviced by the Hilltop family physicians from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm (Monday to Friday), and Saturdays from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. • Each day there are a set number of available walk-in clinic appointments available to all patients. • The number of available appointments does vary from day-to-day and week-to-week, depending on the number of physicians working in the walk-in each day. • The doors to the Hilltop Walk-in Clinic (located within the 1st floor Rexall pharmacy) open at 8:00 am. • The line-up for the Walk-in Clinic can form at anytime (but typically patients begin to line-up between 8:00 - 8:30 am.
  • Why is the walk-in clinic closed ("at capacity") before 6:00 pm ?
The Hilltop Medical Walk-In Clinic is serviced by Hilltop Medical Family physicians. • Hilltop Medical Family physicians provide their services to all White Rock / South Surrey community residents through the Hilltop Medical Walk-In Clinic. • Each Hilltop Family physician has a preset number of appointments allocated to their respective walk-in clinic shifts. • Family physicians are limited to a specific number of patients each day (as determined by MSP). - This includes the patients they see during their respective walk-in clinic shifts. • Hilltop Medical Walk-In Clinic is booked by a first come, first serve structure. • For example: • If Hilltop Medical Clinic has 90 x available walk-in clinic appointments on a given day, • And 90 patients "walk-in" to the clinic (by 10:00 am) to request to see a doctor on that given day, • Hilltop can only book the those first 90 x patients. • The rest will (after 10:00 am in this example), will be turned away, as we are "at capacity" for this day. • The clinic remains open during the day to provide medical services to the first 90 x patients, • However we are closed (as of 10:00 am) to any additional requests for walk-in clinics appointments.
  • When should you use a walk-in clinic ?
Walk-in clinics provide medical care for people who do not have a family doctor or who have one but are unable to book an appointment with them, for their acute medical reason. Walk-in clinics are designed to provide quicker care for non-life-threatening conditions when going to a family doctor is not an option. Walk‐in clinics can also augment chronic disease management as an accessible setting for one‐off issues but are generally not suited for ongoing monitoring or prevention of long‐term complications. Walk-in clinics are not suitable for emergencies.
  • What medical services will be offered through a walk-in appointment with the Hilltop walk-in clinic?
You can speak to the walk-in doctor about a wide variety of acute medical concerns and complaints including but not limited to medical services such as prescription, a doctor’s notes *, a lab requisition, a referral to a specialist or an imaging requisition. * Please note some medical services are not covered by BC MSP, and will require the patient to pay in full before receiving their requested document, letter, and / or medical service *
  • What is an acute medical reason ?
Acute medical treatment is the treatment of an acute condition that occurs suddenly, or may have immediate or rapidly developing symptoms, or the symptom / condition is limited in its duration. Acute does not mean new, although many newly diagnosed diseases present with acute symptoms. Nor does it mean that symptoms are severe. It simply means that symptoms have developed quickly and that some sort of medical intervention is needed.

Hilltop Medical Clinic (Family Practice and Walk-in Clinic) is committed to providing a safe, secure and respectful environment for staff and patients. We have a zero-tolerance policy for threatening, intimidating or inappropriate behaviours. This includes, but is not limited to, behaviours such as swearing, abuse (verbal or physical), threats, threatening or intimidating behaviours, unwanted physical contact, sexual harassment, and discriminatory remarks.
