  • What time does the walk-in clinic open?
The Hilltop Medical Walk-in Clinic is serviced by the Hilltop family physicians from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm (Monday to Friday), and Saturdays from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. • Each day there are a set number of available walk-in clinic appointments available to all patients. • The number of available appointments does vary from day-to-day and week-to-week, depending on the number of physicians working in the walk-in each day. • The doors to the Hilltop Walk-in Clinic (located within the 1st floor Rexall pharmacy) open at 8:00 am. • The line-up for the Walk-in Clinic can form at anytime (but typically patients begin to line-up between 8:00 - 8:30 am.
  • Why is the walk-in clinic closed ("at capacity") before 6:00 pm ?
The Hilltop Medical Walk-In Clinic is serviced by Hilltop Medical Family physicians. • Hilltop Medical Family physicians provide their services to all White Rock / South Surrey community residents through the Hilltop Medical Walk-In Clinic. • Each Hilltop Family physician has a preset number of appointments allocated to their respective walk-in clinic shifts. • Family physicians are limited to a specific number of patients each day (as determined by MSP). - This includes the patients they see during their respective walk-in clinic shifts. • Hilltop Medical Walk-In Clinic is booked by a first come, first serve structure. • For example: • If Hilltop Medical Clinic has 90 x available walk-in clinic appointments on a given day, • And 90 patients "walk-in" to the clinic (by 10:00 am) to request to see a doctor on that given day, • Hilltop can only book the those first 90 x patients. • The rest will (after 10:00 am in this example), will be turned away, as we are "at capacity" for this day. • The clinic remains open during the day to provide medical services to the first 90 x patients, • However we are closed (as of 10:00 am) to any additional requests for walk-in clinics appointments.
  • When should you use a walk-in clinic ?
Walk-in clinics provide medical care for people who do not have a family doctor or who have one but are unable to book an appointment with them, for their acute medical reason. Walk-in clinics are designed to provide quicker care for non-life-threatening conditions when going to a family doctor is not an option. Walk‐in clinics can also augment chronic disease management as an accessible setting for one‐off issues but are generally not suited for ongoing monitoring or prevention of long‐term complications. Walk-in clinics are not suitable for emergencies.
  • What medical services will be offered through a walk-in appointment with the Hilltop walk-in clinic?
You can speak to the walk-in doctor about a wide variety of acute medical concerns and complaints including but not limited to medical services such as prescription, a doctor’s notes *, a lab requisition, a referral to a specialist or an imaging requisition. * Please note some medical services are not covered by BC MSP, and will require the patient to pay in full before receiving their requested document, letter, and / or medical service *
  • What is an acute medical reason ?
Acute medical treatment is the treatment of an acute condition that occurs suddenly, or may have immediate or rapidly developing symptoms, or the symptom / condition is limited in its duration. Acute does not mean new, although many newly diagnosed diseases present with acute symptoms. Nor does it mean that symptoms are severe. It simply means that symptoms have developed quickly and that some sort of medical intervention is needed.
