-
Each physician sees a predetermined number of patients during their shift, which varies by individual.
Joining the Queue
-
Patients can join the queue each day, either in person at the clinic or by calling in.
-
To be seen in person, we recommend being in the queue between 8:00 - 8:30 am (Monday to Saturday)
-
We cannot guarantee an appointment on any given day due to limited availability.
Appointment System and Availability
-
We operate on a same-day appointment basis to ensure fairness and accessibility.
-
No pre-booked appointments are accepted to prevent booking at multiple clinics simultaneously.
-
There are a limited number of spots for both in-office visits and phone consultations each day, filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
The specific doctor you will see is determined by the order of arrival and the current schedule. Our doctors' availability can vary daily, and you may not be able to choose a specific doctor for your walk-in visit.
-
Our priority is to provide you with the best medical care possible in the most efficient manner. Our team of qualified physicians is here to address your medical needs regardless of which doctor is available during your visit.
Arrival and Capacity
-
Early arrival (8:00 AM) to join the queue to register for the walk-in is recommended.
-
Walk-in spots are allocated, from the queue, starting after 8:45 AM, Monday to Saturday.
-
-
The waiting room may not appear crowded however this does not necessarily indicate availability, as early arrivals may have filled the day's appointment slots.
Policies and Considerations
-
No-show fees will apply, as failing to attend your appointment takes away an opportunity from someone else in need. (Click here for Hilltop private fees, including no show).
-
Once we reach our daily capacity, unfortunately, we cannot accept more patients for that day.
-
Hilltop is not an urgent care center. For urgent needs, please seek nearby urgent care centers or your local emergency departments.
Respect and Understanding
-
We kindly ask for your understanding and respect. Our staff are committed to doing their best to accommodate all patients within the available capacity. We strive to provide a safe and respectful environment for everyone. As such, any form of verbal or physical abuse, threats, or use of foul language towards our staff or other patients will not be tolerated. -
When should you use a walk-in clinic ?Walk-in clinics provide medical care for people who do not have a family doctor or who have one but are unable to book an appointment with them, for their acute medical reason. Walk-in clinics are designed to provide quicker care for non-life-threatening conditions when going to a family doctor is not an option. Walk‐in clinics can also augment chronic disease management as an accessible setting for one‐off issues but are generally not suited for ongoing monitoring or prevention of long‐term complications. Walk-in clinics are not suitable for emergencies.
-
What medical services will be offered through a walk-in appointment with the Hilltop walk-in clinic? You can speak to the walk-in doctor about a wide variety of acute medical concerns and complaints including but not limited to medical services such as prescription, a doctor’s notes *, a lab requisition, a referral to a specialist or an imaging requisition. * Please note some medical services are not covered by BC MSP, and will require the patient to pay in full before receiving their requested document, letter, and / or medical service *

What is an acute medical reason ?Acute medical treatment is the treatment of an acute condition that occurs suddenly, or may have immediate or rapidly developing symptoms, or the symptom / condition is limited in its duration. Acute does not mean new, although many newly diagnosed diseases present with acute symptoms. Nor does it mean that symptoms are severe. It simply means that symptoms have developed quickly and that some sort of medical intervention is needed.
